Anderson Dance Studio was founded in 1965, by Mrs. Mary Anderson. She was one of the first African-American dance educators in Prince George’s County. Although, Mrs. Anderson is now retired, she be found at the studio helping out behind the scenes. Her daughter, Monique Anderson
is our Director. She has danced since the age of 2 under the tutelage of her mom and our founder, Mrs. Mary Anderson. Upon learning the business side of the studio, she decided to continue her family’s legacy of exposing local students to the performing arts. With her leadership, Anderson Dance Studio has grown from a 2-car garage serving 40 children to a commercial business serving
over 80 children. Her goal is to grow children academically, socially and culturally. Live, Love, Laugh, Dance!
